My Day Dream

This piece was inspired by a vivid dream I had while dozing off. In the dream, I was asleep with succulents growing out of my head, each housing a blinking eye that scanned the surroundings. Below, dark figures bounced across the floor, encircling my bed in a smoky, ritualistic ceremony.

Rather than fear, I felt a sense of intrigue—observing them as they assessed me—before a large hand pulled me back to reality.

To translate this into art, I studied references for the plants and figures, and researched arm muscle anatomy to ground the surrealism in reality before finalizing the composition.

Rewiring the Senses

This work is a self-portrait. A banana—my favorite fruit—sprouts from my head like a thought made visible. By removing the eyes, I shift from seeing to sensing, searching for a deeper connection with the world and the people around me. After finishing it, I knew I had found an emotion that feels unmistakably mine.
